WAH certification for York Region's tech corridor and growing construction market. On-site training available.
Markham has established itself as one of the GTA's most dynamic construction markets, driven by a unique combination of technology sector growth and rapid residential intensification. The Markham Centre area around Highway 7 and Warden Avenue is undergoing a dramatic transformation, with high-density condo towers and mixed-use developments replacing what was once low-rise commercial land. These projects require large crews of formwork workers, ironworkers, electricians, and mechanical tradespeople — all working at significant heights and all legally required to hold a valid Working at Heights certificate under Ontario Regulation 297/13.
Markham's identity as a technology hub adds another dimension to its construction activity. Major corporate campuses for companies like IBM, AMD, and Qualcomm require ongoing facility construction, renovation, and expansion work. The Highway 404 corridor from Steeles Avenue north to the 407 is lined with commercial and industrial properties that see regular construction and retrofit projects involving rooftop mechanical installations, steel structure modifications, and exterior envelope work. In Unionville, heritage-sensitive mixed-use developments blend new construction with existing streetscapes, creating unique fall protection challenges for crews working on tight sites adjacent to older buildings.
The residential condo market in Markham continues to expand as well, with new towers going up along Highway 7, near the Unionville GO station, and throughout the downtown Markham area. Whether you are a general contractor managing a 40-storey condo project or a small renovation company doing roof work on commercial buildings along Main Street, 4 Your Safety Solutions provides the MLITSD-approved Working at Heights training your workers need to stay compliant and stay safe.

Call 647-830-5557 →Yes. Any worker on a construction project — including renovations, retrofits, and tenant fit-ups — who may use a method of fall protection must hold a valid MLITSD-approved Working at Heights certificate. This covers work on rooftops, scaffolds, elevated platforms, and any situation where fall protection equipment is required. Commercial renovations along Highway 7 and in Markham's business parks are no exception.
The full certification course takes 6.5 hours including breaks. The refresher course takes 3.5 hours. Both courses include classroom instruction and hands-on practical components. You receive your certificate the same day you complete the course.
Yes. We regularly deliver on-site training at corporate campuses, industrial facilities, and commercial properties throughout Markham. If you have 5 or more workers who need certification, we will set up at your location. We just need a space large enough for the practical component and access to an area where we can demonstrate harness fitting and equipment use.
If your certificate has fully expired, you need the full 6.5-hour certification course ($150). The refresher course ($125, 3.5 hours) is only available for workers whose certificate is still within the valid renewal window. If you are unsure about your status, call us at 647-830-5557 and we will confirm which course you need.
